A Knife makers vision...
...a Legacy knife.
I don’t know about you, but camp has been a major part of my life! I am 55 and this will be my 56 year of camp! ( mom was 8 months pregnant my first go round)
As a kid my camp adventures were filled with fun and freedom, riding with Steve and Susie. Our bikes would take us everywhere; a game of “rock box” on the playground, basketball and skateboarding at the basketball court, putt-putt a the mini golf. All this centered around the Snack Shack; the heart of the camp.
As a kid, family camp was only the beginning, kids camp was just around the corner. Six full days of life long friends, water slides and adventures. But most of all, God was there. Learning his concepts and priniciples that would carry us though life, his spirit alive and lifted in our worship. At the end of service, we would spend time down at the alters with the living God; tears unleashed, his call on our lives felt, the roots of his love reaching deeper into the bedrock of our hearts. The Tabernacle; the soul of the camp.
And now… Galcier Bible Camp is doing the same in my kids hearts and lives!
So why am I sharing this with you...
Our camp has been missing our “Snack Shack”. The Snack Shack is a place where our families go to meet and re-connect with all our friends from years past. So how can we help?
This year I am building a special Legacy knife: the “Glacier Peak” hunter.
It will be a hand forged damscus blade with a custom display stand. What will make this knife special is that it will be built with “Glacier Bible Camp” history!! With the help of the camp director and camp staff, I have tracked down old pieces of camp history that will live on in the knife.
The Treasures that were found came from:
- the snack shack
- old cabin keys
- the play ground
- the old amphitheater
- camp bunk beds
- the camps old golf carts
- the old steeple from the tabernacle
All this history will become part of the knife and stand! That will be my part.
Your part?
We will hold a Drawing on the last day of Family Camp, July 10, at the evening service, for someone to become the proud owner of the “Glacier Peak Hunter”! You do not need to be present to win.
For every $20.00 dollars donated, to the rebuilding of the “Snack Shack”, you will get 1 entry.
If you would like to see the knife it will be on my table at the camp craft fair. The drawing will be held on the last day of Family camp at the evening service; winner does not need to be in attendance..
Don’t miss the opportunity to help our camp out and enter for a chance at to own this Legacy knife.
